Beta (Mod Exclusive)
Beta
Beta is what these beasts were called back in the beginning times of war. Rare and difficult to recreate, the Beta was an impressive specimen. It draws its strength from the leaves of a spirit tree that researchers were able to get their hands on. They tried for months to years to formulate a Leobuck with a more lethal stride. What the researched failed to account for was that the leaves they used came from the spirit tree of Sraalaa.
Using leaves that came from the betrayer clan came with unexpected outcomes. The beasts they made shared appearances similar to those of the Kaeraa, and their dragonic features mirrored those of their cousins greatly. Their looks were not the only thing Beta obtained; Beta shared a bond with Sraalaa and could feel the tree's energy even more than that of a Kaeraa. Beta's DNA was more spiritual than organic when fused with the spirit tree in the purest form. They possess the ability to warp gates. An ability rumored to be possessed only by Yarujai, these Beta also had, however, they could open warp gates within seconds, almost as if they teleported in a blink. Betas are argued to be even stronger than a Captain Kaeraa due to their DNA sharing that of a spirit tree.
It took scientists years to create a Beta that lived past 5 years, as they would all eventually get "Spirit Sickness" and die. Spirit sickness is like a poison that kills the body over time. It's such a painful way to die. Only a handful exist because of the low success rate of creating a Beta that lives to mature. The scientist felt a lot of pressure to produce more, as the new Leobuck they engineered was a considerable success in the wars and brought a lot of profit; however, it was impossible to meet the demands, so they tried to breed the ones they did have. Success in breeding them was almost impossible; the aggression level Betas shared was not something they thought would happen. Breeding two Betas together usually ended up nearly killing each other; they cared more about establishing a pecking order than reproducing naturally, so the next step was to see how a Beta would fare with a different Leobuck breed. This seemed to work much easier; however, the outcome was not great. Most children born took after the other parent's breed, and the few that took after the beta were not even Betas. They were deformed and stillborn. This was an impossible task for the scientists, and they couldn't figure out why the betas were so hard to recreate in the lab and naturally. After years of successful creation from the Betas, they could finally produce a successful breeding, but the outcome was not what they thought. Genotype: The child is a beta, but the phenotype is slightly different. The scientist labeled the child "Beta Submissive," and this ended up being the outcome for all children who were born a Beta.
Aggression
Betas are known for having high aggression towards each other; it's unknown why, but many scientists and Leobuck behaviorists think it may be due to the genetic compound that made them an apex. They don't show the same level of aggression towards other Leobuck breeds like they do to each other. Some think it may be due to the influence of the spirit tree, making them react this way, almost like a tree is trying to destroy what they did. The best way to deal with the aggression was to take precautions and have them muzzled during socializations, and have them wear a specialized inverted spike collar that would stab them if they transformed. If that wasn't enough, some individuals wore shock collars.
Life span
Betas are even immortal because of the spirit tree's DNA being inside them. They stop physically aging after full maturity (25 in human years) and can live forever. They can suffer from mortal wounds like being stabbed and die that way, but they will never grow old. So long as the tree is living, so are they.
Betas Today
Betas today are still rare, and few exist out there. Now that the organization is shut down and the wars are over, the betas that exist are free to be whoever they want to be. Some warped back to Sraalaa, as that is a place they feel the most familiar with and want to help fix it and make it a home for those affected by the kaeraa curse. During the Kaeraa war, Beta really struggled to decide who they fought for, as they felt such a strong affiliation to Sraalok and their cause, as they were kin. But simultaneously, they could feel the weeping tears of the spirit tree they had harmed. It was a brutal battle, and which side they fell under, no one blamed them as they did not ask to be this way. Betas were offered a seat at the Council of Yarujais if they chose it, since they are just as much a Yarujai.
Today, Betas's aggression towards each other has died down; they no longer feel the urge to tear each other apart.

How to obtain
You can only obtain a Beta Leobuck by being an active moderator for 2 years

Beta (Submissive) (Mod Exclusive)
Species: Leobuck
Beta (submissive)
When breeding Beta, the outcome can potentially produce a Beta offspring; however, they are not true Betas.
A submissive Beta is when a Beta is born to a Beta parent. They share some similarities, but not all. Submissive Betas cannot warp gate and do not live forever like Betas do. They only share a fragment of the spirit tree energy in them.
Some submissive Betas often struggle with identity issues as they aren't seen as real Betas and aren't treated the same; some struggle with fitting in a lot. Being a submissive Beta does come with some unwanted eyes as you're seen as someone related to a spirit tree when they're much further removed from it. But that doesn't stop the harassment they may get from others, asking them to heal someone or spitting in their face for not being good enough.
Traits
-Pointed upright ears that have a lot of long fur packed inside
-Square nose shape
-Big cat heads like Leobuck have
-4 thick whiskers, 3 are short and close to the jowls, and one long one closer to the nose (On each side of the face)
-Dragon-like feet on the back
-Minimalized flared spiked dragon tail that has longer spiked ridging on the tip
-Shares the horns of the parent if applicable (Any horns if not)

Breeding Rules
To breed a Beta or Beta (submissive), you need the breeding item Apex Juice.
You will also need Breeding permissions for each buck because there is no Breeding cool down. As long as you have permissions, you can breed.
Betas cannot be bred with breeding permits, like how breeding is usually done. You must submit a breeding prompt under prompts in the "Submit" tab
If you are submitting a breeding with either one or two mod-exclusive bucks, please ensure you have the following:
• Apex Juice for each mod-exclusive buck
• Any other breeding items you'd like to use (keep in mind that breeding rules still apply)
• Breeding permissions for both characters (breeding perms can be purchased in the nursery shop). Remember that breeding permissions must be attached to the character on their character page under "Breeding permissions."
Make sure you add the parents in the "add character" tabs
